Details of Ideas Driving TFBD

There has been a long history of artists working from an angle of social critic or commentator. From Goya to William Pope L., artists have been reacting to the societal hardships, event and sentiments as a way to shine light of issues and to encourage a dialogue about them.

It is in this vein that I plan and embark on TFBD.

May 12, 2011, the starting date for this project marks the 90th anniversary of the birth of German artist Joseph Beuys. Beuys was a pioneer of conceptual art. He initiated the practice of directly conversing with the public as an artistic medium, what he termed, "Social Sculpture". It feels not only appropriate to begin this project on this date but almost necessary.

New images and information to be continually updated.
